Courses and Training

We organise regular training from BSAC Ocean Diver, which is the entry-level grade, up to the highest branch-awarded grade, Advanced Diver. All training is done by BSAC qualified instructors, who will then take trainees out into open water to continue their training.

Once qualified as a BSAC Ocean Diver, we encourage our divers to continue their training within the club, where they can move ahead at their own pace in a safe and friendly environment.

Most of the open water training takes place at Gildenburgh Water near Peterborough, regular training sessions are organised from April to October.

We also take our trainees on a trip to the south coast over the early May Bank Holiday weekend to expand their training and to enjoy some diving using our two club RIBs.

Skill Development Courses (SDCs)

Many of the branch's instructors are also approved SDC instructors. We are therefore able to run the majority of SDCs within the branch, including all those required as part of Dive Leader/Advanced Diver training.

This year we have already run Boat Handling, Nitrox and VHF (GMDSS) courses.

If you want more information on our training please contact our training officer training.officer@cambsac.com, for information on prices please contact our membership.secretary@cambsac.com. For more details on the club please check our Contact us page.

For more details about all the BSAC qualifications check this BSAC page.
