East Coast Diving

Description

The East Coast is the nearest piece of coast to Cambridge and offers some fantastic diving on little touched wrecks with huge amounts of life. However the weather and diving conditions are extremely variable. Usually it is only possible to plan these trips less than a week in advance with announcements normally on the Thursday club night for that weekend.

Where

The Club tends to launch from Sea Palling

Dive Sites

  • Walkure (15m)- The Walkure is the clubs Nautical Archaeology Society, (NAS), ‘Adopt a wreck’ scheme wreck [more info]
  • Galatea (12m) - A medium iron sailing barque ran aground on a sandbank. Carrying mixed cargo including barrels of cement or lime and china dolls. Plenty of life hiding in the holes between the concrete barrels.
